More on my Second Life…

Ok, I have now setup a seperate blog for my character here. I haven’t done a lot with it, but more will definatly come. :) Book mark it and visit often!

Gas prices and such….

Ok, during the course of about 12 hours, we saw about a $.32 raise in gas prices, from $2.55 to $2.87 a gallon. WTF? I think it’s time to get a mountain bike. It’d probably kill me how out of shape I’m in, I’m not paying those kinds of prices. I think the Government needs to step in and effectively cap the price of oil. I doubt that’ll happen. The Federal Government loves the oil biz, or we’d all be driving hybrids or hydrogen powered vehicles. This is just getting silly. I’m actually thinking about getting a second job just to keep up. For someone in a position like mine, I shouldn’t have to do that. I still haven’t recieved my raise at work, so life is pretty much the sux0r right now.

So what’s the deal?

I’m going to guess school is in and there are a lot of lonely women out there. I’ve been contacted via IM by about 4 women in the last few days, most leading me to believe they have some sort of interest in me. It’s freakin’ me out! I can handle 2, maybe 3, women if my pocketbook holds out, but we’re talking way too many. I think I’m going to quit signing in for a while and only use Google Talk. I mean come on, I have more than I can handle already, no use in getting too greedy. lmao! Besides, the old saying is “get me some” not “get me some, then some more, then even more, and then maybe get a 5min break, then get some more.” That can kill a man! lol!

Google get’s it’s own IM and PC to PC VoIP service….

WOOT! It’s about frickin’ time! Speculation about this has been going on for the last couple of years. It’s gone from the “what if” stage to the “it’s here now” stage. :D That’s right! Google has become quite the “cool free stuff” company. They have put out their own IM/VoIP client and service. On top of that, you can also use any Jabber enabled IM client out there, but the Google client is simple and useful. Of course, you need to have a Gmail account to get it to work. If you don’t have one, send me a some feedback with your name and the email address you want me to send the invite to.

Now I’ve seen everything….

According to this article, Linus Torvalds, a hero of mine, has commissioned something rather evil and unwitting. He commissioned the LINUX MARK INSTITUTE to over see defending the Linux trademark. I could be wrong, but if I were to start up and non-profit distro based on the famous kernel, do ya think I could really afford any money towards a licensing of a name? I’d start a free distribution. If there’s no money coming in, how can there be much more than operating expenses going out? It would make me think twice about using in my trademark. Maybe CentOS has it right when they left off the Linux mark from the name. Maybe it’s safer now. I just wonder what’s going to happen when Linux is no longer a “buzzword” because of this money grubbing attempt at “defending the Linux mark.”
