What’s new….
First off, it looks like I have to find another place to live. The guy I’m renting my room from is selling his house. This sucks pretty bad, but hey, nothing lasts forever. He’s basically going to make $24k more than he paid for it. What sucks is he’s used about $1750 of my money (rent) to make it worth that much more, and I won’t see a dime from the sale either. bleh…. Oh well, nothing like getting screwed over. I should be used to it by now, but no one seems to use lube anymore….
Anyway, on a different note, we recieved more promises of raises, title changes, yadda yadda yadda…. I’m tired of all this talk! We had a meeting on Saturday with my boss. He told us that he couldn’t tell us much of anything. lol! Oh hell, I wish he didn’t say anything to begin with. Anyway, he says a huge change is coming and that we can see it as an opportunity or not; depending on our views. What is it with these management types always keeping things secret, even from their own employees? I mean, come on. I have no way of knowing what to plan for, not that I have much to plan with. I have about a good pickup truck’s worth of assets to my name, which is sad to say the least. One speculation is that they’re going to want us to move to one of their other datacenters. The company’s done it to others before, and I have no doubts they’d do it to us too. Another thought is that they just want to have us working 4 12hr shifts a week, then 3 days off. Not horrible, and I’ve workes similar shifts, but I don’t know. 12hrs in a tiny room with no windows. Yuck! Oh well, this is all speculation anyway, I really don’t know enough to say what’s coming…. bleh!
Well, I guess that’s it for now…. There’s more coming so watch for it!
