A Small Win for Music Lovers Everywhere….

I few weeks ago, Mark Russinovich at Sysinternals.com revealed that there is, infact, a “root kit” and spyware involved in Sony’s DRM’d CD’s. It seems that music enthusiasts, computer security advocates, and some lawsuits, have pretty much forced Sony to rethink it’s protection scheme.

It’s Alive!!!

Heh, the new server is just a hummin’ along quite nicely. The best thing, I have at least most of what I’ve been lookin’ for. The resources I have won’t allow the running of tomcat or resin java servlet engines, but that’s ok. Guess I’ll continue with PHP for now, and I’ve been looking at AJAX pretty hot and heavy, so maybe a little of that too. Perhaps I’ll start up a new project venture. It might be interesting to say the least….

Maybe more later….

Migrated to the New Server….

Ok, looks like we’re all migrated to the new server. All I can say is that it was really really really easy. :)

Now, going to play with my other sites. ;) Maybe more later….

Here’s the Scoop on the New Server….

Ok, to make a long story short, someone might have dropped the ball. Basically, I try and go to the automated ticket that was created, and it’s gone….. nada….. nothing…. I then thought, WTF? Ok, so I get info on a new ticket that was created Saturday, asking what the IP of the VPS I was paying on. Hmmm….. Well, I gave them a short answer, “I’m buying new service.” Heh, I could always ask for my money back and go somewhere else. I haven’t even had a chance to test out the server yet, and I’m unimpressed with support. I don’t want to give the company a bad wrap because it came highly recommended, and I’m sure everyone’s milage will vary. Just not too happy at this point, but that doesn’t mean they won’t be good for this and my other site, so I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt. I’ll post more of my adventures in host finding as it comes….

Yet Another New Server Coming Soon…

Ok, I tried adding a new subdomain, just like in the past. This time, it didn’t work. I’ve conversed with tech support and they eventually admitted it was a problem on the server and it was “fixed.” This is not the case. I am as of yet able to access the new subdomain. This tells me that this server is broken, and thus it’s time for a new one.
