I was reading an article about a man claiming to have a bomb at the airport, and getting shot to death by Air Marshels. Some witnesses say he was acting eradic. According some witnesses, his wife was running behind him yelling that he was bipolar and didn’t take his medications that day. There was never a bomb found….

WTF is wrong with this country? We’ve become a paranoid nation, suspect of everything and everyone of being a terrorist. Indeed, we’re afraid of our own shadow. Fear, uncertainty, and doubt (FUD) is being spread. FUD is often a term used to describe the spead of malicious and somewhat truth that’s been bent out of shape and distorted. Don’t get me wrong, I think terrorists are a problem, and we should be on the look out, but it’s shouldn’t run our lives. Indeed, that’s what seems to have happened. Fear is running the Government now, and deadly force is ok to use on someone who is obviously not in their right mind. Was a real threat precieved? Maybe. I hope there is a full investigation. I hope they find those officers involved in the shooting incompetent and guilty of murdering an innocent man. It probably won’t happen. They’ll be shielded under some obscure Homeland Security law, or under the PATRIOT Act, or some other political crap. This saddens me. It saddens me to know that the terrorists have won in spreading their FUD, and it sickens me that our Government ate it up and asked for seconds.

We have given up so many freedoms in the pursuit of “security” that we forgot about liberty and the pursuit of happiness. All I can see now is the United States is cumbling under it’s own political B.S.. I expect soon we’ll have to carry around “papers,” get tattoes of our Social Security number on our forearms, wear special buttons so they we aren’t terrorists, and “Heil !” everytime we see someone in uniform. Don’t forget to look over your shoulder, “they” will probably be there, watching your every move for “terrorist activities.” Of course, with technologies coming out, they’ll be able to watch our every move via GPS, and just waive a scanner over our forearm where the information chip is embedded in place of “papers.” Just my opinions, of course…. (takes off tin-foil hat) But that’s where we seem to be heading….
