A Crafting We Will Go, A Crafting We Will Go….
So now I’ve got my Hunter (read “main character”) up to level 33, almost 34, I’ve decided he’ll be my first 60 (or 70 with the next expansion). Yeah, I know I’m less likely to get a group outside of whatever guild I stick with, but oh well. That’s what alts are for. Speaking of alts….
I have some lowbie alts on Draka that I’ve been neglecting. Hence, I decided it was time to play a little. I have a hunter, shaman, warlock, and druid. The hunter (surprised?) is almost level 13 now. Not only that, but he’s a leatherworker and skinner at that, similar to my main on Moonrunner. Anyway, the nice thing about the area around the horde/Orc newbie zone is that most everything is skinnable. So, while questing, I can usually skin what I’m killing.
The only drawback was that there was a cost for the skinning knife, but now, it’s fine. Charging about 20 silver for a stack of 10 light leathers is nice at the lower levels, and people seem to be buying it all up. I had 50 silver on my orc hunter yesterday, before I had to go spend a good chunk of it on training. Without the extra money from the leather, I wouldn’t have been able to train everything. It’s ok, I’ll make it back plus some!
It’s a pitty that almost every form of travel, except for some free boats, some aircrafts, and walking there yourself, costs something. Even more a pitty is the fact you have to pay for training. Money sinks abound! Anyway, I’ve found that many quest in the middle levels require more money than they give out. It almost makes you need to get a “job” and craft something to sell. Since you can have two “professions,” I usually pick ones that compliment each other like leatherworking/skinning or alchemy/herbalism. Someone pointed out that if you don’t care about production, you can make tons of money doing two secondary professions like skinning/mining. Since I like to complete things, I’ll stick with my philosophy.
I may start work on a leatherworking/skinning guide, but I dunno. I’m lazy. lol!
Maybe more later…
