SOE is sooooo Evil….
Yeah, yeah…. I got to looking at things left unfinished and decided to give EQ one more shot. Well, at least a half-assed shot anyway. I’m still going to play WoW for the enjoyment factor of being able to solo yellows/oranges. For grouping goodness, I’ll head to EQ. Of course, I logged in to EQ for the first time in I don’t when, and here’s what happened….
I decided to go out to WoS (Walls of Slaughter) and see if I could get a good old fassioned group to do some heavy grinding, and maybe get some decent upgrades. To start with, the zone is too dangerous to run visible, so invisibility is needed. Rangers (which is what I played as my second main) get a very weak invisibility spell and it rarely ever stays on the 25 minutes it’s supposed to last. Knowing this, I threw on a fresh invis and started running. About half way through NC (Noble’s Causeway) my invisibility fell off and of course, I agro half of the zone. I ultimatly end up dieing. Well, this is normally not a problem, all I have to do is go get the corpse and then get a reserection from someone. No big deal.
On my second way through to get my corpse, I got it ok. Then my invis dropped again, and again, I die…. This is now rediculous. So now, I have 2 corpses out there. Wonderful… Now, I’m not risking another death going to get either corpse, so I went to PoK and offered to pay for a couple of summons (necromancers and shadowknights can summon a corpse from hard to get places. Finally, after practicaly begging, someone answers my call for help. A Shadowknight (SK) has come to my rescue. Well, we get in the zone and he asks “Did you get the coffin?” and I said “Was I supposed to get the coffin?” (coffins are what they use to summon corpses with and are 67pp apiece) I went ahead and got them while he waited patiently in the zone. bleh! Anyway, I get back and there’s this raid forming at the zone in where we were. There were also 3 level 70 clerics. I thought, “great! I can get a res there without a problem.” Eh, wrong. I advertised to pay for a couple of res’ and no one answered. Now, that wasn’t the only thing that went wrong. I didn’t realize it, but the guy summoned the same corpse, twice. So now, one is still stuck out there and I have to figure out how to get it back, plus I have to figure out how to get a res. How crappy.
Then I had an epiphany….. I have a cleric on a second account that was deactivated at the same time I deactivated my main account. So now, I’ve reactivated that account….. bleh!
Now I have to choose one of the other 3 games I I need to give up. Will probably be all 3 of my DAoC accounts. I never play it and get nothing from it, why pay for it?
