Jay Talbot’s Ramblings

I cancelled all 3 DAoC accounts yesterday, and I most likely won’t be back anytime soon. Not that I’m mad, or anything, but most of friends that did play have all gone. Besides that, both my houses got repoed and I’m not paying for another 2 story house that costs 10 plat base, then everything else is extra. Nope! Not gonna happen for a game I just don’t play anymore.

To tell you the truth, I wasn’t really too impressed with the round table I attended in OKC. You would think that they’d know what direction their game is going, but they don’t. They want their customers to tell them which way to take it, which is probably not the best thing they could do. Everyone wants everything to their specific advantage, which creates balance issues. Also, they don’t seem concerned with reviewing nerfs to all original classes they’ve made years ago. I know many of the classes that were nerfed because they were considered overpowered, in light of the recent additions of new classes and races, most likely would be average abilities these days.

I could go on and on about my gripes, but the truth is, it just wasn’t fun anymore. I’m a casual player now, and don’t have time to raid and do ToA artifacts, or any of that stuff. Obviously, it would probably have been more fun had Mythic not headed down the hard-core gamer route.
