Update on the puppy situation…
Last week we called the breeder and hoped we could go pick her up. Yeah yeah, I know she was at the six week mark, but that would be old enough to come home. Anyway, the lady said that her little half-wolf puppy ended up having a new strain of Parvovirus, which spread easily to other dogs through feces. My heart sank. The breeder said she couldn’t let any of the puppies go for another two weeks. Me and my girlfriend talk about things, and this is what we’re doing.
We’ve been in touch with our friend who’s kept shelties for a long time. She said she knows a breeder in McClain, TX who might have puppies available. I’ll probably find out more from her tomorrow at the dog club meeting.
Also, we’ve contacted a breeder in Lubbock, TX and finally heard back from her tonight. She has one twelve week old female puppy available. She’s black and white, also known as bi-black. I’ve seen a five and half week old picture on their website, and she’s cute. I don’t know though, I tend to like the sable and white more. Anyway, the breeder wants $500 for her, and she comes with health and genetic guarantees, and is already starting crate and house training. She’s bound to be smart. Now, the question is, do I have the $500 to lay down on a new puppy…
Maybe more later…
