I hate corporate life….
I know, I’ve been MIA yet again. I have a good excuse though! Not much had been happening worth writing about. Well, now I have something to write about.
Two days ago, I found out that my job will be moving to to Omaha, NE. It’s going to happen in October. Needless to say I’m not happy and I don’t want to move. *sigh* They can’t just leave us the fuck alone. Let me explain….
During the 4 years we’ve been under the current regime of corporate monkeys, my job has been threatened about every 3 to 6 months. Of course I have a shitty attitude about it, wouldn’t anyone? Now, I get to keep my job, but ONLY if I move to some city that’s in the middle of no where. Ya know if I wanted that, I could just stay here in Amarillo, TX. So the only plus would be that I get to keep my job.
Jobs aren’t really easy to find around here in the IT field. So now I’m stuck with deciding weather or not I really want to keep grinding away at the corporate stone, making everyone I work under rich still getting the shaft. I do have another option though….
My other option that I’m considering is to become a Chef. (waits for the laughter to stop) I know, I know…. But it’s something I’ve been considering for a while now and I sort of feel the need to get out of the corporate setting, and get away from the way they’ve been treating me for so long. I think I’d be happier in the kitchen than stuck in a data center for who knows how long.
I guess I’ll have to sleep on it…. Maybe more later…
