What I’ve learned at culinary school….
Here’s a quick list of things I’ve learned at culinary school….
1. Knives are sharp! You can seriously injure yourself with these knives!
2. Fire is hot! The BTUs generated by a professional burner are a lot more than any consumer model can even think of!
3. Culinary school is expensive! Expect to spend for this Associates degree as much as you would a Bachelors degree else where!
4. There’s at least one asshole in every class! These guys are the ones who pull an attitude and get bitchy and bossy. Ignore these people or you’ll end up in jail for beating the shit out of them.
5. Potential employers want experience! Without experience, you’re not getting a job in the food industry. Lucky for me, I have an externship lined up to get that experience. In the mean time, I’m supposed to starve. ![]()
6. Food is awesome! Nothing beats good food, and nothing brings people together like food.
