Riverdance Rocks Amarillo, TX!

Ok, so I went to go see Riverdance lastnight, before work. I must say, they have quite an impressive show with lots of very talented dancers. Sure, I’ve seen a tape and all, knew mostly what to expect, but I was simply blown away. Besides all that though, it made me miss clogging even more, but alas that’s another story…

The show began as one would expect, with announcements about upcoming shows by some goofy guy. lol! Well, we was goofy really. Shortly after that, the curtain finally raised. It was amazing they packed their stage setup and band onto that stage, which really isn’t all that big really (I’ve performed on it once or twice myself, back in the day). The lights dimed, and the show finally began.

So Now It’s Lyrics….

First it was peer-to-peer networks, now it’s lyrics sites… The RIAA is sending cease and desist letters to free lyrics sites. The RIAA group has pretty much made a mochary of the music industry with their crappy and blind lawsuits against innocent people, unable to defend themselves. This goes to show just how low they will go, and I expect it to get worse before it gets better.

Gaming Addictive, News at Twelve….

New Scientist is reporting that, perhaps most, gamers are addicted to the games they play. Ummmmmm…. DUH! I could have told them that! Heh, any of us could have told them that! lol! What I think is interesting about this theory is the fact of the matter, people will get addicted to things they enjoy. I’m a geek, some have called me a hacker, others have called me much, much worse. I’m addicted to technology, although I have to curb it with cheap entertainment, such as DAoC and Secondlife (although SL isn’t really all that cheap if you wanna really create something). I can’t really afford to just buy stuff and tear it apart to see how it works and how I can modify it to be better, and I’m not into pilfering goods for this sort of thing (I dunno. The thought of going the any “pound-me-in-the-ass” prison doesn’t sound appealing).

What’s Wrong With Playing the Cluster?

Having played DAoC since about a month before Shrouded Isles was released, I have characters on all the different servers, except for the roleplaying servers. *cough*cough* Anyway, many of those servers are now clustered, and now I have “grandfathered” toons in all three realms in each cluster. With a 45 minute wait, it’s possible to logout from one server on the cluster, and login to a different realm and play whatever, including RvR.

A Small Win for Music Lovers Everywhere….

I few weeks ago, Mark Russinovich at Sysinternals.com revealed that there is, infact, a “root kit” and spyware involved in Sony’s DRM’d CD’s. It seems that music enthusiasts, computer security advocates, and some lawsuits, have pretty much forced Sony to rethink it’s protection scheme.
