DAoC new Expansion coming soon…

It’s been about 6 months or so since Catacombs was released. On Tuesday, Mythic will be releasing their next expansion, Darkness Rising. Some of the things most noticable will be personal and controllable horses. Also, they are introducing new sub-classing. Basically, you can learn new skills from another classes trainer. Can’t wait to get the fire Wizards nukes on my Minstrel. ;) Or maybe we’ll be able to have Wizards with the Minstrels stuns. Talk about mean. lol! We’ll have to see. :D

Google AdSense…

Ok, you may have noticed I’ve started putting Google AdSense adds in my entries. I also noticed there were an aweful lot of the DAoC plat ads in them, so I’ve taken the liberty of baning those ads that have shown their ugly little heads on my website and maybe we’ll get some respectable ads from now on.

More on DAoC…

Since I’ve been under more stress lately, I had a nice session today in DAoC playing my Heretic. Basically, I ended up tanking oj/red/purple mobs while a rejuve cleric healed me. lol! On top of that, it was on Pellinor. The new server clustering is weird…. If I can’t find something in housing on my server (Iseult), I can look on the other two, Pellinor and Kay. I miss my mids on Pellinor though. I may have to spend some quality time with them sometime soon. In the mean time, I’ve got my Heretic to level 32 now, solo most of it, with the exception of one level and the time I spent in thid in groups. He’s almost Molv age now, so I get to go terrorize hibs and mids there very soon. Hehehehe….. I’m also going to see if maybe some of my fellow Alb guildies want to duel my mid toons. That way, we both get a chance to get realm points and have fun doing it. Other than that, I won’t spy for either side if I’m grouped. To me, it’s just like using radar, and it’s just not fair. Anyway, I’m pretty happy with my tic the way he’s coming along.

DAoC is like….

Coming home after a long time away. I decided that it might be interesting to go and play on my old server, Iseult, a couple of weeks ago. I’ve played my minstrel some, but I also decided to roll a heretic. I’m pretty much a casual player now. I don’t have hours and hours to play. After all, I have been in search for companionship for sometime now. Anyhow, after a couple of weeks soloing though dungeons, I finally got him up to 20 and took him to thid. Man, seemed like everyone was red to me. I decided to go grab a quick level so most everyone would be at least orange to me. Tonight, I finally got to really play him for an amount of time longer than say, an hour. Mwuahahaha! It was fun! The group I got in just mowed over a lot of enemies, but we got rolled a couple of times too. No biggie, right? :)

My first real look into Catacombs…

Ok, Tuesday was a no sleep day for me. I just couldn’t get to sleep at all. One of the things I do when I get that way is I play my games. So, the choice for yesterday was DAoC, and I wanted to experience the new stuff in the Catacombs expansion. I logged in the Mins and Cleric bot and proceded to try the instance dungeons (kind of a private hunting grounds generated for me). It actually worked very well. There are no limitations to the group size, even single players can have their own dungeon. Very nice. After killing a few baddies, I decided to see what a new class called the Heretic was about. It takes forever now to get through the tutorials. Of course, after about an hour of tutorials, I was ready to start leveling my little guy. As I really got into the leveling, using the instance dungeons to my leveling advantage as it generates mobs that are blue con if you’re solo. It’s a steady flow of mobs, complete with a nice camp bonus, and no one can come in and start pulling from your camp. A couple of the downsides are, the dungeons are timed like tasks, and if you leave the dungeon at any time, it cancels. Anyway, so far my new lil toon is level 8. I think he’s going to be my next level 50. He’s got good solo and group utility with his dots, weapons, buffs, and heals. He’s a bit harder to kill than my cleric, because he has a spec shield. The only problem with this logic is he also wears cloth…. Figures! lol!
