WoW Level 60 N00b Guide Released….

Ok, I know the WoW faithful have already read this off of the official WoW site, but I thought I’d make a special note on here, mostly for my own archive. The Guide, written over on PC Gamespy, is basically a reference point for things to do once you’ve hit 60. I hope I reach 60 at least once before the raise the level cap to 70 with the next expansion. Maybe the guide will evolve from things to do at level 60 to things to do between 60 to 70.

Back To Your Regularly Scheduled Programming….

While this whole thing was going on with my dad, I did manage to make my escape from the insanity into WoW. Basically, any time I had at home was generally spent playing WoW. Why? The virtual reality was much better than reality at the time, and still is in most cases. In that time, I managed to level up most of my characters to decent enough levels. For the most part, the priest is still the step-child at level 10, being my least favorite to play. On the other hand, my hunter is 23 now, looking for 24 over my weekend, maybe 25. The rest are between 11 and 18.

My Impression After 3 Weeks of Playing WoW…

Ok, my impressions after playing WoW for a few weeks are fairly positive.

To begin with, I’m staying true to my nature and playing multiple characters at this point. So far I have one level 18, and 2 level 15’s, and a 3 others between 10 and 14. So far, I like playing all of them, although I’ve never realy been a fan of playing pure melee classes, but I’m enjoying it overall.

WoW is all I can say….

Ok, so just as I was getting into WoW, we go out of town and go see my girlfriends parents for Thanksgiving. Bleh! Oh well…. Anyway, I started out playing a Druid, and armed with the knowledge I had from the Beta, got to level 8 in the first 3 or 4 hours playing. With the amount of running around, unless you’re getting a powerlevel, there doesn’t seem to be much of a fast-track in leveling. You pretty much spend most of your time running around doing quests. Anyway, when we got back, Friday evening, I spent most of the night going through levels 9 to 12 just so I could get my bear form (the second part of the quest is really hard unless you either have a group, or you’re level 12 or higher). For those that don’t play WoW, bear and dire bear form is kind of tank form for Druids. It makes you pretty tough, and you can do some decent damage. After running around a clobbering many a mobs in bear form, I got a little bored and decided to see what Hunters were all about.

World of Warcraft….

Ok, so I broke down and couldn’t resist the 14 day free trial to WoW offered through FilePlanet.com. Unfortunatly, I found out that I will need to buy a box at the store to continue playing after the 2 weeks is up. Like any good dealer, they give you a taste, then stick it to you when you’re hooked. I’m not entirely sure I’ll be able to shell out the $$$ for the box.

So far, game play is pretty much as I expected. It has changed, but not too noticably from the beta 2 and stress tests. It’s a very pretty game, the quests can make you work some, and keep it interesting at low levels at least.
